Who We Are
Safe Kids Oklahoma is dedicated to the
prevention of unintentional childhood injuries- the leading cause
of death and disability for children 1 to 14.
Safe Kids Oklahoma is a non-profit organization representing the state as part of the global network of Safe Kids Worldwide.
We educate families, provide safety devices to families in need and advocate for better laws to help keep children safe, healthy and out of the emergency room.
Safe Kids Oklahoma was founded in 1989 by the late Martha Collar. Martha was a trailblazer in injury prevention for the state of Oklahoma. Until her work, Oklahoma children were at far greater risk. Her dedication and passion for the safety of Oklahoma’s children helped pave the way for injury prevention education in our state.
